Aspire's Athos: The Giant!
Aspire, one of the biggest names in the vape industry is known for their great selection of hardware for both entry-level users and seasoned users alike. Before we can discuss the Athos Sub-Ohm Tank, let’s touch on Aspire’s nomenclature for their latest tank. Based on Greek mythology, ‘Athos’ was the giant who created Mt. Athos. Athos created the mountain by supposedly throwing the whole thing at Poseidon…but, he misses the shot completely. Now that we’ve covered that, let’s get started!
The Aspire Athos Sub-Ohm Tank uses a transparent, wide bore Delrin drip tip that sits on the threaded top cap. Removing the threaded top cap exposes the juice fill slots underneath. The smaller slot is the perfect fit for the tips of your eJuice bottles; in particular, bottles that utilize the Chubby Gorilla Unicorn Bottle design. As for the wider juice slot, anything goes; the Athos would have been fine without the smaller fill slot, but it wouldn’t have been just as good without the wider one.
The Athos has a stainless steel structure that shields your tank’s glass tube from any harm. This is perfect for any users who have a tendency to lose their grip when using their mod; the strong stainless steel frame absorbs most of the impact for less worrisome drops for all the klutzes out there. The tank is 25mm in diameter with a 4ml eJuice capacity that maximizes its airflow via the triple-adjustable slots on the base. The 4ml eJuice capacity feels like the perfect sweet spot for the chain-vapers who like to frequently switch up their flavors.
The Athos uses the new Aspire Athos Coil family and comes included with the A3 0.3 ohms Triple-Coil with a wattage output rating of 60W to 75W, as well as the A5 0.16 ohm Penta-Coil that’s rated at 100W to 120W. Each of these coils provides amazing tasting flavors that are loaded within dense plumes of vapor with each and every hit. We recommend gradually making your way up the wattages, rather than starting at their highest rating from the get go; this is a great method for breaking in new wicks.
With large and powerful coils and a strong stainless steel structure, Aspire does it again with another hard-hitting tank with the Aspire Athos Sub-Ohm Tank!
