There are many factors that can affect the way your e-juice looks and tastes, even if it is fresh off the production line, so we are here to dispel the myths about dark and clear e-juice and give you the information you need to vape safely. | Any dark or yellow-ish color you might see in your e-juice is naturally occurring in the Vegetable Glycerin (VG) and Propylene Glycol (PG) that make up the bulk of the e-liquid. This is incredibly common in all sorts of food and food-grade products, just like natural color differences you might see in fresh-pressed juice, produce, and even cooking staples like coconut oil. When it comes to vape juice, the same principle applies; a change in color in your eJuice Direct e-Liquid does not necessarily mean your e-juice is bad, with the exception of a few other aspects we will discuss below. |
Over time, vape juice can oxidize and go bad, but that is typically accompanied by an “off” smell or an old expiration date. If you have a bottle of e-juice collecting dust, be sure to check the date and give it a whiff before putting it in your tank. Heat and sunlight can also make your e-juice age, so it is best to store your bottles in a cool, dark place to keep them fresh. In any case, we recommend using the vape juice you have before investing in new bottles to save yourself some money and prevent your e-juice from aging on your shelf. |
On the flip side, if your e-Liquid is very clear, it may not have been pre-steeped enough, meaning the flavor will not be quite as strong as it could be. In this case, your best bet is to shake the bottle thoroughly, run it under lukewarm tap water, and let it sit for a few hours in a dark place to mix, steep, and let the ingredients get to know each other a little better. After its little time-out, your e-juice should be ready to go; if not, repeat the steps and wait a little longer until you get the desired scent and flavor. Most fruit-flavored e-Liquids on the market should not need to be steeped, but dessert, custard, and tobacco flavored ejuices might need a little more love to perform their best in your tank. |
Here at eJuice Direct, we care about your safety and comfort in your vape experience, and we work hard to give you the best quality products and the best support.
